After working as consultant(in the modern jargon)to Coronet Bookstore, owned by the late Aprim K. Pius, father then set up a HiFi shop in Sadoun Street in partnership with two Iraqis, Hamid (whose surname I forget) and Mohamed Ali (who provided finance). It was a great success, selling records and HiFi equipment, and providing a repair and maintenance service. It closed at the revolution of July 1958, when we had to leave Iraq.
Opposite the shop the Armenian Church - which father provided a speaker system for -
could be seen through the trees.
Down the road, closer to the city centre was the Tessasiya School which I attended for about a year.
